End of month stitching report

As the first month of the new year draws to a close (can I sound any more like an announcer lol), I thought I'd put down how my rotation went. I'm very pleased with my progress--not so much in numbers of stitches (although I did well there because I actually stitched ;) but in how consistent I was following it. I also did well in my primary goal, which was to allow myself to deviate from it if I wanted/needed to. As a result I finished my Valentine's stitchery on time with no stress, made some progress on Golden Pavillion (instead of starting it, stitching for a couple of hours and then putting it down never to touch it again ;) and came closer to finishing Ian's dino mini. Just the fact that I didn't get tired of working on Ian's piece and convince myself to put it down for a while thrills me :). I think the rotation and allowing myself flexibility played a large role in that. I also started a new piece (LHN's Rose in Morning) and made some progress there, and without throwing off my whole rotation ;). So here's what I tentatively have planned for Feb.:

Monday--Rose in Morning
Tuesday--Golden Pavillion
Wednesday--SAL day (Secret Flower Bed or Enchanted Cottage)
Thursday--French Heart
Friday/weekend--Ian's Dino Mini RR

My goal this month is to finish Ian's piece and maybe Secret Flower Bed, depending on how I feel about it ;). It would be nice to have 2 finishes in one month that aren't RR's or exchanges lol. I also want to continue to be flexible--go off course, adjust if needed, start something else, work on something other than what I have listed here. The only thing I will not change is Ian's piece :).

So that's the state of my stitching for January--thanks for reading and we now return you to your regularly scheduled programming ;)

Friday Feast

Appetizer: What comes to mind when you see the color orange? Marigolds--they're Ian's favorite flower :)

Soup: Did you ever get in trouble while you were in school? If so, what was it for? Only once and it wasn't my fault ;). In high school I got sick and had to go home one day. One of my teachers didn't see my name on the excused list and turned me in for cutting class. I was not happy with him to say the least ;)

Salad: Which topping(s) make up your perfect pizza? Pepperoni, Sausage (preferably Italian) and black olives

Main Course: Do you believe in UFOs/aliens/etc.? Why or why not? No. Not sure why not, I just don't ;)

Dessert: What color is your bedspread/comforter/quilt? It's several colors--sort of a neo-classical blend of gold/tan with burgundy and green highlights (very hard to describe lol ;)

Stitching plan Monday

There won't be a Menu Plan Monday this week for various reasons, but stitching is more important that eating anyway, right? ;) So without further ado here is this week's plan:

Monday--Valentine's Stitchery and/or Ian's Dino Mini RR
Tuesday--Golden Pavillion
Wednesday--SAL slot, probably Secret Flower Bed
Thursday--Valentine's Stitchery
Friday/Weekend--Ian's Dino Mini RR

I'm making good progress with Ian's piece--I think I can finally see the end of the tunnel! If we ever get another camera I promise to take pics lol ;). I also made good progress on Golden Pavillion which I'm really enjoying working on :). I think it's helping me to have a plan for the week--we'll see how it goes the rest of the month!

Stitching plan Thursday

In the spirit of Menu plan monday I'm going to try and post a weekly stitching plan as well since my rotation is loosely based on a weekly model. Maybe this will give me incentive to keep going with it and maybe I'll even get some progress on various WIPs done lol ;). Normally I think I'll do this on a Monday, but as usual I'm running late this week ;).

Monday--Golden Pavillion (started on New Years)
Tuesday--Golden Pavillion
Wednesday--SAL slot (this week I worked on Secret Flower Bed)
Thursday--either one of the pieces I've been working on already, or I may start LB's Seasonal Teacups or the Valentine's exchange piece
Friday/Weekend--Ian's Dino Mini RR

I'll post more thoughts about my rotation tomorrow :)
