What time of day are you?

You Are Sunrise
You enjoy living a slow, fulfilling life. You enjoy living every moment, no matter how ordinary.
You are a person of reflection and meditation. You start and end every day by looking inward.
Caring and giving, you enjoy making people happy. You're often cooking for friends or buying them gifts.
All in all, you know how to love life for what it is - not for how it should be.

Balance

I was thinking the other day how nice it is to have some sort of balance return to my life. Now that both the boys are in school I have more time to get things done, and more time for me. Everyone needs me time--I'm one of those people who needs some alone time every day to recharge, otherwise I get very cranky and frazzled. During the past 9 years having a child home most of the time, if it came down to a choice between cleaning or some other house-related issue and me getting some quiet time, I would choose the quiet time. It meant I was a better mother and wife, not to mention a happier person. But I always felt guilty that I wasn't doing as well as I thought I should be with the "house" part of my job. Now I'm able to do better in that role which has given me confidence, pride and satisfaction, and (to my surprise) made me happier also. I haven't been able to integrate everything yet (I don't know if anyone can), but I figure the more things become a habit the more I can add--at least until I reach my limit ;). Sure sometimes things fall apart (sickness, outside factors, etc.), but with more things becoming habit (and learning how to plan) I'm able to get back on track much more quickly than I used to which is very nice :).

Now if I can just get my hobbies to follow suit and become organized I'll be all set!

Friday Feast (on Saturday)

Good grief--I can't even keep up with my blog posts lol ;). Here a day late is the Friday Feast:

Appetizer: What was your very first job with a paycheck? I was a page at the library

Soup: Did you ever lose something really important to you? My dad

Salad: What is the best Christmas present you ever received? I got a Mac the very first year they came out (boy does that date me or what! ;)

Main Course: Tell about a favorite "hang out" place for you and your friends when you were in high school. Not much to tell--like so many others it was the mall

Dessert: Name something that always brings a smile to your face. My kids, a perfect rose, a beautiful sky :)

Friday Feast

I haven't done this yet because sometimes I just don't feel like dealing with the questions lol ;). But today's is an easy one, so because I'm lazy I'll do it ;)

Appetizer: Have you ever flown in a helicopter? No, but I'd love to

Soup: What color is your warmest coat or jacket? Maroon

Salad: What is your favorite rainy day activity? Making a hot cup of tea and curling up with a good book :)

Main Course: Describe your hands. Average, although everyone compliments me on my nails--they look like I've had a French Manicure but that's their natural color ;)

Dessert: If you could eat only one nut for the rest of your life, what nut would you pick? Peanuts for sure!
